The First LEGO Park in Shanghai China Unveils Eight Themed Areas
On November 6, 2024, at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, it was officially announced that the Shanghai LEGO Park Resort will open in the summer of 2025. During the press conference, a concept video of the park was shown for the first time, vividly showcasing the charm of China's first LEGO park. This preview takes the public on a creative and imaginative parent-child journey.
Eight Themed Areas and 75+ Rides
The Shanghai LEGO Park Resort will feature eight themed areas, offering more than 75 interactive rides, exciting performances, and entertainment attractions. Children can enjoy custom-designed roller coasters, get their first "driver's license" at the driving school, and participate in fire rescue missions with their parents at the Rescue Academy. Additionally, the park will integrate traditional Chinese culture and elements of the Jiangnan water town, with a unique boat ride project.
Global Debut of "Monkey King" Themed Area
Shanghai LEGO Park will introduce the world's first "Monkey King" themed area and LEGO Creative World, providing visitors with a diverse and localized immersive park experience. Furthermore, the park will launch the "LEGO Minifigure Resident" membership recruitment campaign. Registered members will be able to get early access to park construction updates, ticket sales information, and exclusive park products, as well as the opportunity to experience the park ahead of its official opening.
Project Progress and Future Development
To date, most of the riding equipment for Shanghai LEGO Park has arrived in China and is in the installation stage. The mechanical tracks and pillars of the highly anticipated Flying Dragon Roller Coaster project have been successfully installed. The park's signature project, LEGO Grand Prix, and the world's first Flower and Fruit Mountain Adventure project are also progressing smoothly. By the end of this year, the park will begin testing some of the riding facilities.
Shanghai LEGO Park Resort is one of the major tourism investment projects in Shanghai's "14th Five-Year Plan" and a cultural tourism landmark in Jinshan District. Mr. Zhuang Jian, Chairman of Shanghai LEGO Park Co., Ltd., stated that the surrounding commercial streets, hotels, and B&Bs are continuously developing, and the transportation, ecological, and supporting facilities are becoming increasingly complete. In the future, Shanghai LEGO Park aims to be built to international first-class theme park standards, leveraging its position as a leader in parent-child themed parks to promote local cultural tourism development.
